To put our goals into practice, we have created governance structures with defined roles and responsibilities for promoting equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) at CSE.

People Committee

Chaired by the Chief, the People Committee is responsible for creating the conditions of a healthy workplace, including promoting EDI at CSE. The committee is made up of executives at CSE and employee affinity group leads, who sit on the committee on a rotating basis to ensure diverse perspectives are considered.

Advisory Committee

Made up of employees from diverse backgrounds, the Advisory Committee advises and supports the People Committee. It provides a forum for CSE employees to provide feedback and share proposals.

Senior Advisor for People, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The Senior Advisor provides expert guidance on EDI initiatives and advocates for positive change at the most senior levels of the organization.

EDI Secretariat

The EDI secretariat is a small team that supports the Senior Advisor and helps coordinate employee-led initiatives.

EDI-HR Team

CSE’s Human Resources department has a dedicated team responsible for EDI. They work with affinity groups to identify and remove structural barriers in CSE’s policies and steward the department’s employment equity efforts. They implement the decisions of People Committee relating to equity, diversity and inclusion.
