Construction update: Temporary sidewalk along Bathgate Drive - December 2012

As announced in November 2012, landscaping along Bathgate Drive has started and is progressing well.

A temporary pathway has been constructed for the safety of neighbourhood residents until the permanent sidewalk can be installed sometimes in 2014. Although not part of the original construction plan, it was thought that a temporary paved walkway would be better for the neighbourhood. In addition, snow will be removed throughout the winter for the safety of the pathway users.

This is the first season of landscaping and work will continue in 2013 and 2014. In an effort to control the spreading of the Emerald Ash Borer, dying ash trees will continue to be removed and destroyed. New trees and bushes will be planted along the Communications Security Establishment (CSE) properties as part of the landscaping plan.
