Letter sent to residents - April 21, 2010

April 21, 2010

Dear Madam/Sir,

Notice of start of construction

This letter is to inform you that a new building will be constructed for the Communications Security Establishment (CSE). The new facility is to be located near the intersection of Ogilvie Road and Bathgate Drive.

In late April or early May 2010, EllisDon, the builder, will start site preparation for the construction of a federal government two-storey building. Construction is expected to last until late 2011. Access to the site will be through Polanyi Drive, off Ogilvie Road, and contractors are expected to use existing parking near the construction area.

The Government of Canada is committed to sustainable development and environmental stewardship, and has conducted environmental assessment studies on this site to ensure that the environmental integrity of the land will be preserved. Furthermore, the new building will meet the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢ Gold standard.

EllisDon will also do its very best to mitigate any noise or traffic disruptions in the neighbourhood.

Further information

Information on the construction project will be posted regularly on the Communications Security Establishment website at www.cse-cst.gc.ca.
