Computer-Based Training SCIP Devices

To ensure that employees of the Government of Canada have on-going access to low cost training materials, CSEC IT Security Learning Centre has prepared a computer-based training tool designed to familiarize personnel with various Secure Communications Interoperability Protocol (SCIP) devices.

Four SCIP devices, the STE, OMNI, SWT and SGSM, are presented as individual courses on one DVD. Within each course, Learning Objectives are delivered as distinct modules with short quizzes to test retention. Interactive learning techniques help to introduce first-time students to the equipment or to refresh previous training experiences.

The SCIP CBT disk will be included in each equipment course package and is also available, free of charge, upon request. Such requests should be directed to the IT Security Learning Centre.

Although formal scheduled training for SGSM and SWT has been discontinued, tailored classroom training can be arranged if number warrant. When a minimum of five students have requested such training, the ITSLC will set a date and notify interested participants. For more information, or to place your name on a waiting list, contact the IT Security Learning Centre. For course dates, see our IT Security Training Calendar HTML | PDF (85KB).
