Canadian International TEMPEST Program (CITP)
Established in 1979, the CITP fosters a Canadian industrial capability to produce commercial off-the-shelf TEMPEST products and services to meet the needs of the Government of Canada. The CITP also provides protection for and control of TEMPEST information and prepares Canadian industry to participate in capital programs.
CITP has four programs or categories of operation:
- The Endorsed TEMPEST Products Program
- The Endorsed TEMPEST Support Services Program
- The Endorsed TEMPEST Test Services Program
- The Endorsed TEMPEST Test Instumentation Program
Successful participation in the CITP will result in Canadian products and services being entered on the U.S. Endorsed TEMPEST Products List (ETPL) this document originates with an organization not subject to the Official Languages Act and the NATO Recommended Products List (NRPL). Since January 1, 1991, Canadian-based firms that wish to supply TEMPEST equipment and maintenance support to the Government of Canada must have a formal agreement with CSEC under the CITP.
The NRPL is published and distributed by the Military Committee Communications Security and Evaluation Agency (SECAN) twice a year. Accreditation is given to those products which have fully complied with all applicable TEMPEST requirements. The NRPL (January 2007) (* Accessibility Notice) may now be accessed electronically and originates with an organization not subject to the Official Languages Act. For information on Canadian products that have recently been submitted for inclusion, or products certified by a Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II (CTP II), please contact the CITP Manager at 613-991-8496.
