The Resolution Manager 4.2 from Triumfant was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at DOMUS IT Security Laboratory, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed in January, 2009.
The evaluation of Resolution Manager 4.2 determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 2 augmented with ALC_FLR.1 (Basic flaw remediation) and ADV_SPM.1 (Informal TOE security policy model) to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
Resolution Manager 4.2 is a software-only incident and problem detection and resolution management system running on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Agent) and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Collector, MySQL Database, Analytic Engine/Admin Console). Agents are installed onto workstations, laptops, and servers to gather detailed state and status information. Resolution Manager 4.2 extracts statistically significant relationships from this information and generates an adaptive reference model. This model defines what is normal for that particular managed population at that particular moment in time, and is updated (i.e., adapted) regularly to reflect changes in the managed population.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for Resolution Manager 4.2, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that the Resolution Manager 4.2 satisfies its IT security requirements.
