Third Brigade Deep Security 5.0 (hereafter referred to as Deep Security 5) was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at DOMUS IT Security Laboratory, a division of NUVO Network Management, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed in March, 2008.
The evaluation of Deep Security 5 determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 3, augmented with ALC_FLR.1, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
Deep Security 5 is an advanced intrusion prevention system (IPS). It provides a line of defense against attacks that exploit vulnerabilities in commercial and custom software, including web applications. It enables its users to create and enforce comprehensive IT security policies that proactively protect sensitive data, applications, hosts or network segments.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for Deep Security 5, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that the Deep Security 5 satisfies its IT security requirements.
Consumers are advised to verify that their operating environment is consistent with the security target, and to give due consideration to the recommendations stated in the certification report.
