The Internal Communications Management System (ICMS) Version 3.7.1.0, was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at DOMUS IT Security Laboratories, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed on 12 August 2004.
The evaluation of the ICMS determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 3, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
The ICMS Version 3.7.1.0, together with the External Communications Management System (ECMS) Version 4.1, form the Communications Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) which manages all internal and external communications equipment on shipboard communications systems.
The ICMS is a software application that runs on a CCMS workstation. It manages the local area network which links together all the communications equipment (radios, voice/data terminals, etc.), the radios, terminals and other equipment connected to the local area network, and communications services such as telephony, intercom and radio communications.
The evaluated configuration comprises the ICMS Version 3.7.1.0 running on a Sun Server using the software SolarisTM 2.8, CDE X11R5 MOTIF® V1.2, ILOGVIEWS V3.1 patch 31227, NETSCAPE V4.04, SOLSTICETM V9.2 patch 108669-02, SybaseTM SQL ServerTM 11.9.2, SybaseOpen ServerTM V11.1.1, Sybase Open ClientTM, Sybase DB-LibraryTM V11.1.1, and SunHSI PCI DRIVER V3.0.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for the ICMS, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that the ECMS satisfies its IT security requirements. Consumers are advised to verify that their operating environment is consistent with the security target.
