Silver Peak NX Series Software v3.1 (hereafter referred to as NX Series Software v3.1) was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at DOMUS IT Security Laboratory, Ottawa, Canada. The evaluation was completed in August 2010.
The evaluation of NX Series Software v3.1determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 2 augmented with ALC_FLR.1, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
NX Series Software v3.1 provides a WAN acceleration solution that addresses the bandwidth, latency, and packet loss issues that are common to most enterprise environments. Silver Peak's optimization techniques are all performed in real-time and primarily at the network (IP) layer.
The scope of the evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for NX Series Software v3.1, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that NX Series Software v3.1 satisfies its IT security requirements.
Consumers are advised to carefully review the certification report to gain an understanding of the security functionality, the evaluated configuration, and the intended operating environment for NX Series Software v3.1.
