The SecureLogix Corporation® ETM® (Enterprise Telephony Management) System Version 4.1 was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at EWA-Canada, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed in March 2004.
The evaluation of the ETM® System Version 4.1 determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 2 augmented, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target. The augmentations consisted of the following: ACM_CAP.3 (Configuration management authorization controls); ACM_SCP.1 (Target of Evaluation (TOE) Configuration management coverage); and ALC_DVS.1 (Identification of security measures).
The SecureLogix Corporation® ETM® System is a telecommunications firewall that provides enterprise-wide protection of telephone networks. The ETM® System mediates access between local telecommunication users and external telecommunication users, based on rules defined by the administrator. The ETM® System includes an option to protect the system's network management communications by encrypting network communication using DES (by default) or Triple DES cryptography. The ETM® System is also designed to protect telecommunications traffic from being disclosed, by creating encrypted tunnels through the public switched telephone network through the use of the TeleVPN® Call Shield option available for the T1 and ISDN PRI versions of the appliances. This option allows the ETM® System to encrypt selected telecommunications channels using Triple DES cryptography.
The evaluated configuration comprises: the ETM® Management Server; TeleAudit® Server; Windows/Solaris Operating System; ETM® System Console; the six types of ETM® Communication Appliances: Authorisation, Authentication, and Accounting (AAA) appliance, Analog appliance, T1 appliance, ISDN-PRI appliance, E1 appliance, SS7 appliance; a TeleVPN® Call Shield option (only available for T1 and ISDN-PRI 2100/3200-series appliances); and user guidance documentation which describes the correct configuration and operation of the SecureLogix Corporation® ETM® (Enterprise Telephony Management) System Version 4.1.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for the ETM® System Version 4.1, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that the ETM® System Version 4.1 satisfies its IT security requirements. Consumers are advised to verify that their operating environment is consistent with the security target.
