SecureLogix Corporation® ETM® System Version 4.0.1 was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at EWA-Canada, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed on 8 April 2003.
The evaluation of ETM® System determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 2 augmented, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target. The augmentations consisted of the following: ACM_CAP.3 (Configuration management authorization controls), ACM_SCP.1 (Configuration management coverage), and ALC_DVS.1 (Identification of security measures).
ETM® System is designed to protect telecommunications lines from abuse and to provide extensive auditing capabilities on all telecommunications line traffic. ETM® System acts as a traffic firewall to protect internal telecommunication resources (telephones, modems, faxes, etc.) from abuse, fraud, and attack. The system is capable of operating in conjunction with a Private Branch Exchange, but is not required to do so.
The evaluated configuration for ETM® System consists of the ETM® Management Server and Teleview® Infrastructure Manager (both running on PCs that run on one of several operating systems with Java® Virtual Machine software, version 1.3.1.04), and the associated hardware appliances for Analog, T1, E1 ISDN/PRI, ISDN/PRI, and AAA (authorization, authentication and accounting).
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for ETM® System, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that ETM® System satisfies its IT security requirements. Consumers are advised to verify that their operating environment is consistent with the security target, and to give due consideration to the recommendations stated in the certification report.
