McAfee Application Control v5.0, Change Control v5.0, and Integrity Monitor v5.0 with McAfee Agent v4.5 and ePolicy Orchestrator v4.5, hereafter referred to as McAfee AC, CC & IM with Agent & ePO, was the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at EWA-Canada, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed on 16 December 2010.
The evaluation of McAfee AC, CC & IM with Agent & ePO determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, to an assurance level of EAL 3 augmented with ALC_FLR.2, to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
McAfee AC, CC, & IM with Agent & ePO provides application control, change control, and integrity monitoring of servers, desktops, network devices, and databases. It does this by collecting information about the program code, files, directories, and volumes that are to be protected. Each time a program attempts to execute, or a process or user attempts to modify a protected resource, the TOE analyzes the attempted action and determines whether the action should be permitted.
McAfee AC, CC, & IM with Agent & ePO incorporates FIPS 140-2 validated cryptography.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for the McAfee AC, CC, & IM with Agent & ePO, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that McAfee AC, CC, & IM with Agent & ePO satisfies its IT security requirements.
