Enterasys Matrix N, DFE Gold Enterasys Networking System v6.01, Matrix N, DFE Platinum Enterasys Networking System v6.01, Matrix N, DFE Diamond Enterasys Networking System v6.01 and Matrix X Enterasys Networking System v1.6.4P4, hereafter referred to as Enterasys Matrix N v6.01 and Matrix X v1.6.4P4, were the subject of a Common Criteria evaluation performed by the Common Criteria Evaluation Facility at DOMUS IT Security Laboratory, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The evaluation was completed in January 2009.
The evaluation of Enterasys Matrix N v6.01 and Matrix X v1.6.4P4 determined that this Information Technology (IT) product can be trusted, at an assurance level of EAL 3 augmented with ALC_FLR.1 (Basic flaw remediation), to conform to the requirements of the associated security target.
The Enterasys Matrix N v6.01 and Matrix X v1.6.4P4 software support a product line of switch and router hybrid devices capable of applying access control filtering to routed traffic. These devices offer both layer 3 routing capabilities and layer 2 switching capabilities and offer embedded security features that provide the ability to limit the applications on the network, and restrict the use of specified applications to certain users.
The scope of this evaluation is defined by the security target, which identifies assumptions made during the evaluation, the intended environment for Enterasys Matrix N v6.01 and Matrix X v1.6.4P4, the IT security requirements to be met, and the level of confidence (evaluation assurance level) to which it is asserted that Enterasys Matrix N v6.01 and Matrix X v1.6.4P4 satisfies its IT security requirements.
Consumers are advised to carefully review the certification report to gain an understanding of the security functionality, the evaluated configuration, and the intended operating environment for Enterasys Matrix N v6.01 and Matrix X v1.6.4P4.
